How did you become a Hair Stylist?

I became a stylist after discovering my passion whilst I was a Saturday girl in my parents Salon.

Tell us about what you do?

I am an International Hair Artist who specialises in Bridal Hair Styling, and Editorial Hair Styling.  I travel all over Scotland and North of England styling brides who are from all over the world on their wedding day.  I mainly work in castles and Hotels.

How long have you been a Hair Stylist?

I have been a trained stylist since I left school in late 80’s and have been a specialist in long hair styling for over 18 yrs .

What makes you different?

What makes me different is my unique Bespoke styling, my experience, my training, knowledge of what my clients want on their wedding day.  My one to one friendly, confident approach.

The ability to communicate with my clients needs and desires professionally, effectively with a positive, bubbly attitude.

The products I use are Aveda organic based, they’re great for the environment and my clients hair. I also have a designers creations, Corrine Smith Designs, in my studio at home.  This is a great service for my brides who have not chosen their hair accessories, gives them  an opportunity to try out different looks.  I also hire out hair extensions if the bride’s hair is too short to style in a gorgeous updo.

What’s your favourite thing about what you do?

I do love styling long hair and creating a look that’s just been designed by me. Having a bride hug you on her wedding day thanking you for how beautiful they feel kind of makes that a favourite moment for me.

Love styling  bridal looks and models for all session & beauty work. I loved styling at the premiere last year too for TinTin.

Using 3 words, how would you describe yourself?

Creative, Brilliant, Current.

When you were 8, what did you want to be?

When I was 8, I wanted to be an artist  and  I wanted to design lipstick packaging.

And finally…

I absolutely love what I do. To be able to be involved in brides weddings and styling models is really rewarding. It is a fantastic career to work with so many talented people in the wedding industry and in Editorial. I feel very grateful that my career has let me travel, meet incredible people and let me enjoy what I love doing most – styling hair for weddings and models for photo shoots. Also having my work published gives me such an amazing feeling of pride and happiness.

Best feeling in the world seeing a picture in a magazine that you admire, then realising it was you who styled it! Such job satisfaction.
