Featured – More Than Words – Typographic Word Art

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today’s post is from the lovely Lisa Long from More Than Words.  She’s a very talented lady who can turn your ideas into an amazing, totally bespoke piece of art that you’ll treasure for years to come!

I was honoured when Yvonne contacted me to ask if I’d like to feature on her blog… Yvonne’s husband Steve shot our wedding video nearly 8 years ago now (a talented man!) and it’s not until I started the business that I’ve had the pleasure of coming into contact again with some of the Scottish Wedding industry ‘greats’.

More Than Words was launched as a hobby in between nappies and nap times four years ago.  It was something to keep my brain occupied and to earn a little pocket money whilst on maternity leave with a 6 month old and a toddler.  It all started when I created a piece of word art for a new room in our own home, capturing all of our wonderful family memories.  I had so many lovely comments and requests to create pieces for friends and family, that I decided to make a go of my little venture. Believe it or not, at the time, personalised ‘typographic art’ of this style barely existed so it really was quite unique.

My artwork has been commissioned by celebrities, hotel groups, features in regular interior design TV show slots, and is regularly spotted in national magazines.  It’s a dream come true to be running a successful growing business, doing what I love every day!

My favourite piece, to this day, remains our signature ‘vintage framed canvas’.  It’s become quite an icon in the wedding world and has made a special keepsake for thousands of brides and grooms.     We love that we get a little insight into people’s weddings and I’m just so pleased we can capture their special day in this way.
